Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me and Tria (designer of Rana Experimental), as we both will be attending a fashion show by Stephanus Hamy! Well, if you’ve never heard his name, he is an Indonesian fashion designer. I always love his designs because he can mix batik, tenun, and other traditional Indonesian fabrics into a clean-cut, colorful, yet wearable design.

Besides working for his own fashion line, Hamy has also published some books. The books are of course, related to fashion design and Indonesian fabrics. However, he stated that the designs which he shows in the books are meant to be inspiring, especially for Indonesian women who love to wear batik/tenun as daily outfits.

Tomorrow’s fashion show theme is “Hamy Culture. Jambi to Bali”. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of tenun variation mixed with colorful materials. I am now also preparing my outfit for tomorrow! Since the dress code is ‘touch of tenun’ so I’m sort of thinking, jumputan Palembang would be great! Will post my outfit pic tomorrow as well ;p
